CHARLI XCX
WUTHERING HEIGHTS
X CROSLEY
MOTION DESIGN / PROJECTION MAPPING

The project reimagines “Wuthering Heights” (2026) through a conceptual retail display, to promote a limited-edition Crosley Voyager Record Player alongside Charli XCX’s album which was used as the official soundtrack for the film.
The visual direction draws on a ghostly, romantic, gothic aesthetic, using cool tones and serif typography and compositions centered around the film’s music video visuals.

Design Concept

Designed as a window installation, the concept was translated into a small-scale display using a single projector and a foam board vinyl player model.

Technology Used

Animated elements were created in Adobe After Effects, with supporting assets developed in Adobe Photoshop. Projection Mapping possible with TouchDesigner.

Planning Stage, and Asset Creation
To complete the video, and be able to proceed with the execution, I created various different assets as shown below
Digital mock up
Idea / Moodboard
This composition was used as a background for the rotating vinyl
This video edit served as the promotional video of Charli XCX’s newest album, “Wuthering Heights”
Doily vinyl mock up with Photoshop, referenced from the official vinyl design below
Scale model built by gluing together cut pieces of foam boards
Prototyping stage - I couldn’t get a spot at the studio, so I had to improvise in my room (lol)
Execution

I mounted the vinyl scale model on the wall with nano tape then mapped out the final video using Kantan Mapper with TouchDesigner. The end result came out nicely and up to my expectations.

Afterthought

Although I was generally satisfied with the outcome, I couldn’t shake the idea of my original plan, which was to create a larger-scale display. With better equipment, I would have been able to produce a version that spans the full height of a room and offers a more immersive experience.
